Weekly Classes

Topical Issues

Each week we will have a class focused on a specific topic of injustice. We will have various guest speakers who will be able to share their knowledge and experience with the class. Topics will include, Human Trafficking, Sex Trafficking and Demand. Child Soldiers, The Girl Child, Street Kids, HIV/AIDS, Refugees, Orphan/Foster Care, Sexually Exploited, Poverty, Child Abuse, Child Slave Labor. Children of Addicts, Drug Abuse, Malnutrition and Disease, Disabilities, Abortion/Gendercide, and others, as issues change.

Literacy

In this class you will learn how to teach a child to read, opening the hope of knowing God through scripture as well as future economic opportunities. After studying the seven areas of literacy you will create you own curriculum. The international outreach will provide hands-on experiences and opportunities to transfer these learned skills to others, using the natural resources available in the field.

Trauma

Healing the Children Class – What will you do when a traumatized child is sitting in front of you? This class will give you tools to make a difference in a child’s life. You will receive practical guidance to serve little ones whose lives have been shattered by trauma.

Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)

will provide you hands-on, practical resources to prepare you to respond to the needs of exploited children. You will learn helpful strategies and specific actions to combat this crisis as well as effective healing and prevention programs. This class is not only about the evils of child exploitation it is also about hope. It is designed to help you become an effective instrument to facilitate Christ’s healing and love to broken children.

Street Children

It is estimated that there are over 100 million street children, worldwide (http://usinfo.state.gov/gi/Archive/2005/Sep/16-723661.html). This class will better equip you to face the challenges of working in urban mission or with forgotten children around the world. You will learn:
  • The definition of Street Children,
  • How they end up on the streets,
  • Life as a Street Child and the trauma associated with it,
  • Project development,
  • Prevention strategies,
  • How to spiritually nurture these beautiful little people.

Children Affected by HIV/AIDS

This class will give you a compassionate look at the lives of children who have been affected by HIV/AIDS and the psychosocial ramifications of those who are attempting to cope with the awesome task of being compassionate caregivers to the millions of children who desperately need help living through the tragedy and brokenness of AIDS.

Health issues for Children - Facts For Life

Every year, nearly 11 million children die from preventable causes before reaching their fifth birthday (UNICEF). Millions more survive only to face diminished futures, unable to develop to their full potential. Many of these deaths can be avoided if parents and caregivers understand what to do when illness strikes and how to recognize the danger signs that signal the need for medical help. This class will give you practical, effective and low-cost ways to protect children's lives and health.

CR Kids

Get hands-on experience working with traumatized children. You will learn firsthand, their wounds, behaviors and needs; then be able to be the hands and feet of Jesus to them in the healing process.

Biblical Justice

Doing justice is a good thing, but what does God have to say? In this class you will examine the bible in its entirety, and learn about God’s heart for justice.

Healing Life’s Hurts

This class is designed to help you identify your own emotional pain and find healing in your relationship with Jesus and others. This process is intentional, focused prayer leading to an authentic encounter with the presence of Jesus, resulting in mind renewal and a subsequently transformed life. You will find this useful in your own life as well as those you minister to.
